Focus, formerly of Aftermath Records, stopped by our radio show promoting his new label "Afam Records" & debuted plenty of exclusive songs on our show. It was officially the Afam Takeover as we ran through many tracks produced by Focus while he was employed with Dr. Dre as well as the new bangers from artists such as Atlanta's own Al Gator. Focus has since left Aftermath records & is solely focusing on his new label Afam records. One of the key bangers he let us debut on the show is 'Homage To Dr. Dre' featuring Crooked I & Jay Rock. Focus explained on air that there will be another West Coast emcee on the final version & that his goal from a production standpoint was to capture that feeling from Dr. Dre's Chronic album. Focus had previously produced a few songs paying homage to legendary producers such as Pete Rock, Jay Dilla, & DJ Premier. Many were wondering when the 'Homage To Dr. Dre' was coming & we were privileged to have Focus debut the song to the world on our show.
